St. Andrew's Christmas Novena Begins TODAY!

Hello friends,

Today is the feast of St. Andrew the Apostle.  On his feast day we begin this very special and powerful novena.  A novena is commonly known as a prayer that you say for nine days for a special intention or for a feast.  But this novena is prayed through all four weeks of Advent starting on the feast of St. Andrew!

It is piously believed that whoever recites the St. Andrew Christmas novena prayer fifteen times each day from the feast of St. Andrew (30th November) until Christmas Eve will obtain the favor requested.

Hail and blessed be the hour and moment In which the Son of God was born Of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in the piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my desires,
[here mention your request]
through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His blessed Mother. Amen.

Please join me and my family in praying this prayer for your own special intention.  It is prayed 15 times a day and we usually pray it 5 times at each meal until December 24th.  It is a wonderful way to prepare our hearts and minds for the birth of Christ at Christmas.

I wrote mine down on an index card last year, decorated it with sketches of an advent wreath and christmas flowers, and then hung it above my desk.   You can print it out, post it online, or copy it down for yourself so you remember to pray it!

Don't forget, the novena starts today, November 30th!  So please pray with me now 5 times!

May God bless you,

Sarah
