Hello everyone,

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent, a time of prayer, fasting, almsgiving, and repentance, in the Catholic Church.  I just wanted to let you know that I will be fasting from my time on the computer this Lent.  Of course this doesn't include school work on the computer or important e-mails, but time I use binge pinning that I could use elsewhere to grow closer to God and spend more time with Him.

Now, Lent is a period of 40 days of preparation for Easter as well.  But if you count the days from Ash Wednesday until Easter, it's 46! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ  What does this mean?!  Well, it means that each Sunday during Lent is a mini Easter, and therefore, not a mandatory day of penance.  Of course some people continue their Lenten fasts even on Sundays, and that is good too.

So I pray you all have a blessed Lenten season.  I will not be completely gone from my blog of course as I hope to post on Sundays and I'm very excited about Beauty and the Beast week!  but before you go, please read this wonderful article from The Catholic Gentleman on 7 Ways to Have a Good Lent!  It is very helpful!  I hope to devote more time to spiritual reading, silent time with God, and prayer.

"The Lord bless thee, and keep thee. The Lord shew his face to thee, and have mercy on thee. The Lord turn his countenance to thee, and give thee peace." ~Numbers 6:24-26

Again, I won't be completely gone, but I wish you and yours a very blessed and fruitful Lenten season!

Sunshine Blogger Award

Hello everyone!

Olivia over at Meanwhile, in Rivendell nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award!  ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ƒ  Thank you so much!  Please go check out her blog!  I love reading it and I'm sure you will too!

1.)  Is there a particular fictional genre to which you keep returning? (i.e. period drama, action, fantasy, etc.)
In books, or movies and tv series?  I have to say period drama.  They wrap many different things into one amazing show or book!

2.)  What type of toothpaste do you use? ('Cause I'm weird like that.)
Hehe!  ๐Ÿ˜„ Tom's of Main Spearmint, the one with the magenta strip on it.

3.)  In general -- can be for yourself or for others or for both -- do you prefer straight, curly, or wavy hair?
I prefer my hair to be curly, but I don't always have time to make it so.
Random image off of Pinterest of beautiful hair.  Mine's much shorter.

4.)  Do you like musicals?
YES!  I wish life could be a musical!!!!

5.)  What is your third favorite season?
Ooo... Summer.  It was hard to decide which season takes second for me,  Autumn or Summer.  Can you guess which is my first favorite?

6.)  Jewelry -- yea or nay?
Yea.  It depends on what kind of jewelry though.  I love necklaces and bracelets, though I never got my ears pierced.

7.)  Have you seen any of the live-action remakes of the classic Disney movies (Maleficent, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, The Jungle Book, etc.)?  If so, what are your thoughts on them?
I've only seen the live-action Cinderella and absolutely love it!  I love the bright colors, the music, the  amazing costumes, and the love.  Also, the lines between good and evil are clear.  The movie is filled with good, truth, and beauty!

8.)  Are you adept at cookery?
Dictionary definition
Adept: very skilled; proficient; expert
Um, according to this definition...no.

9.)  Is there anybody you really wish would start a blog?
Our family friend, Nick, actually.  I would love to see posts about his adventures at college.  He tells about them over e-mail, but I think he would be a great blogger.

10.)  Do you know what your Myers-Briggs personality is?  If so, do share.
No, I don't.

Well, that was fun!  Thank you again Olivia!  :D  Now for my questions!
  1. Do you like primary, pastel, or neon colors best?
  2. What was the last movie you watched in the movie theater?
  3. What is your favorite kind of weather, sunny, rainy, cloudy, ect.?
  4. Who is your favorite Disney princess?  Do they have a live action movie?  If so do you like the cartoon or live action better?
  5. Are you a morning person or do you like to sleep in?
  6. What social media site do you use the most?
  7. Is there a fictional character who you wish had a blog?
  8. Coffee or tea?

I would like to tag all of my readers!  Post your answers in the comments below or on your own wonderful blog!

Well!  That was so fun!  Thank you again, Olivia!  May God bless you, until next time!

Happ St. Valentine's Day

I hope you all had a wonderfully, lovely day!  I've been reading many beautiful and sweet blog posts from St. Valentine's Day!  (Please take a minute, if you have one, to look at the list of blogs I follow to see their special posts for February 14th!)

I honestly don't know what to write for this post; what love means to me, an explanation of my new header, my favorite love stories, best St. Valentine's Day music playlist, or something else?

So, I'll combine these ideas!  ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Starting at the right of my header (these are in no particular order), Elizabeth and Darcy from Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice are a couple who many of you know.  I love this story because it is very unlike your traditional fairytale with love at first sight.  When I read it, I feel I grow along with Elizabeth and Darcy.  They overcome their own wills and expectations of love to find they really do belong with each other.

Next are Constable Jack Thorton and Miss Elizabeth Thatcher, a school teacher on the Canadian frontier.  My family has just started watching season 3 of When Calls the Heart and we have been hooked from the beginning!  It's not only a most beautiful romance, but Mountie action, mystery, and friendship.  My favorite thing about Elizabeth and Jack is how they look at each other; they love each other, but they must figure it out for themselves.
Now, here's where the Valentine's day playlist starts!  Listen to Daniel and Erin sing "Never Stop".

Of course, my favorite couple of literature, screen, and stage, Anne and Gilbert!!!  Gilbert waits for Anne!  He is a complete gentleman! (all these guys are, really)  I just can't say how I love them enough.  When Anne realized she had loved Gilbert all along, she saw how he fulfilled all of her dreams!
My favorite song that describes their romance.

Rapunzel and Eugene!
Not only do I love the story of their fun, unexpected romance, but I also can't get enough of their face characters at Disneyland! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ  Eugene realizes there's a lot more to life than just adventure and fame.  Rapunzel learns that family is so important.  At least, that's one way I like to look at it.
Is it alright if I post two videos of this song? Hehe!

Finally, Charlotte and Will from Burns Family Studio's Beyond the Mask.  If you haven't seen this movie, I would highly suggest planning it for your next movie night! First they become friends, but quickly fall in love.  Will is swept up however in the mistakes of his past life, and feels he must prove to Charlotte that he is worthy of his love and forgiveness. She shows him that only Christ can offer true redemption!

Well, I hoped you liked my little synopsis.  I'm sorry it is a little late for the actual St. Valentine's day!
Have a wonderful week!

Lessons from Lourdes: Messages for Today

Hello everyone.  Today was the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.  This is an absolutely amazing and beautiful video on the apparitions to St. Bernadette and the lessons that we can take from them today.  Please watch, share, but most especially, pray and make reparation for the salvation of souls!

In Jesus through Mary.
